Glen Mohr, Principal

Glen Mohr

Founder of Mohr Collaborative, Glen Mohr is an expert on organizational learning for innovation. He leads high-profile innovation programs for Fortune 50 clients, engaging global teams of young executives in turning ideas into practical, customer-facing solutions and achieving consistently extraordinary financial returns from the resulting new products and services. He holds a Masters from Harvard with a concentration in Technology in Education and a BS in Architecture from the University of Virginia.

Prior to starting Mohr Collaborative, Glen was President of The Otter Group where he ran the the Global Markets Innovation Program for Merrill Lynch as well as developing numerous e-learning, communications and collaborations projects. The company was a leader in integrating collaborative and Web 2.0 technologies into learning and innovation programs for such corporate and higher education clients as Harvard University, MIT, CDM and Sutter Health.

Glen has extensive experience in media production including six years at the Massachusetts Corporation for Educational Telecommunications where he developed innovative and successful models for technology-enhanced collaborative learning and produced over 200 live television programs while guiding scores of cultural, scientific, and educational institutions in their first forays into distance learning. Glen also served as product and syndication manager for HighWired.com, a provider of web-based publishing tools.

Art Hutchinson

Art Hutchinson

Art is a seasoned strategist, executive, and facilitator with over two decades of experience working with managers at large, global corporations on classic and cutting-edge strategy. He has worked closely with Mohr Collaborative to help Citi’s GTS and Global Markets units train teams of young, “hi-potential” executives to serve as incubators for cross-unit innovation and growth. He also teaches strategy and other business disciplines to young managers at Global 1000 companies for Harvard Business School Publishing.

His main industry focus for 15+ years has been on financial and network services, and other ‘content’ industries (aka, “virtual goods”) where competitive dynamics, industry definitions, business models and customer interfaces are shifting rapidly. His primary functional focus is at the intersection between strategy and innovation.

Through his consultancy Cartegic Group, Art is an expert designer and facilitator of executive meetings, using scenarios and other planning techniques in “high productivity” formats. Through these hands-on workshops, he helps clients develop “learning cultures” more responsive to external changes, and assists them in forging practical strategies responsive to those evolving environments.

Prior to founding Cartegic Group Art spent seven years at Northeast Consulting Resources (later NerveWire), where he headed the firm’s strategy practice for financial services. There he led a wide range of engagements for large corporate (Global 100) clients using the firm’s scenario planning methodology: “Future Mapping”. Art also helped advance the firm’s “Market Mapping” methodology via work he pioneered in the information services sector.

She has guided senior executives, high-potential middle managers, senior hires, and high-performance teams to meet significant strategic leadership and forward-thinking business challenges. Karen founded LearnTech Associates in 1984 to fulfill her vision of providing active learning experiences for managers and leaders in complex business organizations who continually need to improve their skills to meet new challenges and to anticipate the future. LearnTech’s approach to development focuses on working 360 – improving the versatility and flexibility necessary to interact with and influence multiple audiences effectively. Her work enables organizations to adopt collaborative work practices and technologies to support knowledge-based, networked organizations. Patti is a recognized leader in the field of organizational network analysis and has conducted organizational assessments for utilities, systems research, and telecommunications companies. A frequent speaker and writer on ONA, providing general as well as in-house training, Patti’s book, Net Work, published in April 2007, provides a practical guide for working successfully with networks.

Don Khoury knows what makes people tick. An expert in human communication, he specializes in working with companies to develop a variety of key skills, including non-verbal communication, team building and strategic planning, and peer leadership skills. Don’s presentations help organizations realize their true potential by making the most of their most vital resource – their people. Do has over ten years of experience consulting to entrepreneurial organizations in Canada and the US. He appears regularl on television to provide expert analysis of the non-verbal communication of political figures and business leaders. For the 2010 Gubernatorial Elections he predicted the results with 95% accuracy – earlier and more accurately than any other nationally known analyst or polling firm.

Ms. Kivowitz has particular expertise in helping organizations collaborate in areas such as: innovation, organizational change, and team and leadership development. Her clients include IBM, Lotus Development, Novartis, Genzyme, General Motors, Sun Life Financial, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Keane, Lancaster General Hospital, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In a recent engagement with Sun Life Financial, she worked across divisions to help them become more innovative at product and process development. She also worked with their global leadership teams to help them solve complex strategic problems that required innovative solutions.

Barbara Kivowitz is founder and senior partner of im21, a consulting group whose mission is to help organizations partner across boundaries and solve complex problems by activating the diverse organizational networks that drive innovation, efficiency, and results. She is also a Senior Research Fellow at Boston University’s Institute for Global Work.

Sal Rasa has been active in communication and collaborative learning efforts within business, arts and education for over thirty years. He is dedicated to communication as the lifeblood of an organization and the understanding that the answers are always in the audience. He has consulted to companies in a variety of industries, including Merck, Schering-Plough, Schlumberger, BMW, Nissan, Philip Morris, Nabisco, Westinghouse, Omnicom, American Scandia, Citigroup, and UBS. Sal was a senior communication consultant at Watson Wyatt and served as vice president of global communication and business transformation for Maritz Performance Improvement. As lead consultant to IBM at Maritz, he co-authored baseline cultural change for IBM’s first hybrid marketing channel, developed global CRM learning methodologies and led the technology giant’s company-wide business transformation communication strategy.

Deb Poppel

Deb Poppel

Deborah A. Poppel, F.S.A., M.A.A.A., is an insurance industry expert at Mohr Collaborative. She retired from John Hancock in 2008 after more than 31 years as an actuary. Following early assignments in Group Pensions, Agent Compensation, Underwriting Research, Reinsurance, and Policyholder Services, she became a key member of the team supporting Hancock’s relationship with the M Financial Group, the preeminent independent life insurance producer group, comprising over 110 Member Firms serving the high net worth and corporate marketplace. In her more than 17 years supporting the M relationship, culminating in the role of Vice President, M Products and Marketing, Deb was responsible for product development and sales and marketing support, reinsurance, member firm relations, and special projects. She spearheaded the development of the M-Proprietary “Majestic Series” of life insurance products. Largely on the strength of these products, John Hancock became a leading M carrier, with recurring new premium of over $100 million per year.

Madelyn Sierra

Madelyn Sierra is a leadership development consultant and executive coach.  Her work focuses on designing and delivering high-impact executive development programs that help managers improve their performance and effectiveness.  In addition to her group programs, she also works with managers on an individual basis in her executive coaching practice.

Madelyn’s experience includes having launched and managed Harvard Business Publishing’s (HBP) virtual leadership development program for global corporate clients that included such topics as strategy, leadership, innovation and customer-centricity. In addition, she is an executive coach with the Harvard Business School Executive Education Program as well as corporate clients. Prior to joining HBP, Madelyn headed her own consulting firm helping health care systems, consumer goods, manufacturing companies and federal government agencies in the areas of leadership development and executive coaching..

Madelyn earned an MBA from the Harvard Business School and a BA in Economics from the University of Notre Dame.  She also holds a certificate in organizational development from Columbia University’s Teachers College.
