Heather Onstott has over 20 years of experience working with small businesses and startups, beginning with her career in commercial banking at Wachovia Bank and continuing as a strategy consultant with Fidelity Investments. Initially recruited to Wachovia’s prestigious management training program, Heather piloted their small business market program before becoming the first female commercial lender at The Palmetto Bank. Among several projects at Fidelity, she considers the organizational restructuring of a London-based Devonshire Investments portfolio company the most successful…and the messiest!
Heather is a Venture Partner at LaunchCapital’s Boston office, having cofounded the Small Business division that focused on debt investments. At LaunchCapital, Heather created two innovative debt structures to help fill the funding gap found between traditional bank financing and venture capital. In addition to her current investment advisory duties she is the CFO at Freight Farms and at BoardonTrack, both LaunchCapital portfolio companies. She has also served as the interim CEO of another portfolio company, Nanny Caddy.
Heather has been an elected officer to several nonprofit boards and currently serves on the advisory board of The Capital Network, an organization focused on the financial education of early-stage entrepreneurs. Heather holds a BA in Economics and French from Wofford College, and a MBA from Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business. She is a New Hampshire native and avid Red Sox fan, living in Cambridge, MA with her husband and son.
